Chinese Herbal Medicine for Hyperthyroidism

One of the traditional recipes as dietary therapy of Yin Deficiency, the main culprit for hyperthyroidism goes like this – Take three cups of water and then add Tremella (silver ear fungus) about 10g; Black fungus (black ear mushroom) about 10g; and rock-type sugar, about 30g. Once prepared, cook them for about an hour. Once you remove it from the fire, one should eat one serving a day. This solution interrupts with the thyroid hormone and neutralizes its excess amount that is present in the bloodstream. This solution also slower downs the metabolism in the body that is highly accelerated due to over-active thyroid gland.

There are some other Chinese herbs that give favorable effects in case of hyperthyroidism include Rehmannia (shu di huang), dioscorea (shan yao), and cornus (shan zhu yu). They are the leading herbs prescribed for curing Yin Deficiency. Kidney Yin Tonic (Liu Wei Di Huang Wan) is one of the herbal formulas that are very often used to get relief from the symptoms due to hyperthyroidism.
