Managing thyroid disorders effectively

Thyroid hormone is secreted by the thyroid gland located under the neck region. It produces two powerful hormones called the thyroxin hormone and triodothyronine. The problem with this hormone is that the detection of the hormonal imbalance is very difficult as the symptoms of the deficiency of the hormone are very variable and may differ from every individual. In most cases, unfortunately, the symptoms are sub clinical that is the deficiency can not be detected with the normal biochemical tests.

Two types of problems can be manifested connecting with the production of hormone. They are medically termed as hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism. Hyperthyroidism is a clinical condition when there is excess production of the hormone. This condition results when the hormone level in the blood stream exceeds the optimal limits. Various symptoms can be associated with this condition. While, hypothyroidism is a condition when the amount of thyroid hormone production is less than the required level. In other words, there is a decreased amount of thyroid hormone production than the required optimal limit.

In other words, hypo and hyperthyroidism is an hormonal imbalance problem. The body metabolic rate depends on the amount o the thyroid hormone secreted by the gland. A hypothyroidism causes slow down in the body metabolic rates while the hyperthyroidism causes higher metabolic rates. In either cases the symptoms, are not very similar but the symptoms overlaps with the other normal symptoms that the detection becomes very confusing.

The symptoms of the disorder are variable but some times, the symptoms are very hidden that it can be hardly diagnosed. The outcome of the symptoms can be very serious than the symptom alone. In most cases, the symptoms remains undetected over a long period of time.

In some cases the risk of getting a disease may be worsened with the thyroid deficiencies. In yet some other cases, the current disease may be even more worsened with the thyroid deficiencies or thyroid deficiency diseases. In some cases, the excessive hormonal production can lead to palpitations, atrial fibrillations, some serious heart condition like angia and may even cause heart failure. In some cases it can also result in osteoporosis that is the bones become very brittile due to external secretion of calcium. It can also produce excessive cholesterol in the blood and finally result in the heart diseases.

Thyroid disorders can be managed very effectively when you contact the doctor at the right time and the doctor cam manage a thyroid hormone replacement therapy for the rest of his life. With early diagnosis and treatment, thyroid disorders can be effectively managed with out any disturbances in the daily routine.

The main tool to overcome the disease is self discipline and follows the correct medicine at the right time. Regular and periodic check ups followed by good exercises can drastically help to minimise the disorder. The best way to avoid any further complication is by getting the best knowledge about it prior to any other further risks involved with it.
